The team celebrates their season at the GeeGees Athletic Clubs awards banquet
05/31/2010: The Gee-Gees equestrian team enjoyed a strong end to the 2009-2010 season! Our co-captains, Jordan Grendel and Emily Marcogliese, both qualified for IHSA regional finals, with Jordan riding to an eighth-place finish in Walk-Trot-Canter equitation! The team finished off the season with the uOttawa Competitive Clubs banquet, where Emily was named team MVP. Congratulations to all 2009-10 team members for a fantastic season!
Plans for the 2010-2011 season are already well underway. Team members will be on-site at many Ottawa-area horse shows throughout the summer as part of our fundraising campaign - drop by and say hi! And don't forget to keep an eye out for our brochures on campus. The information session for all interested students will take place during the first weeks of term (more details to come shortly.) Hope to see you there!
L'�quipe d'�quitation des Gee-Gees a tr�s bien fini la saison 2009-2010. Nos capitaines, Jordan Grendel et Emily Marcogliese, se sont les deux qualifi�es pour le final r�gional de l'IHSA - Jordan a remport� la 8e position en �quitation Pas-Trot-Galop au plat! L'�quipe a termin� la saison au banquet des clubs comp�titifs de l'Universit� o� Emily a �t� nomm� notre joueuse la plus utile. F�licitations � tous les membres de l'�quipe 2009-10 - c'�tait une superbe saison!
Les projets pour l'�dition 2010-11 progressent � grands pas. Quelques membres de l'�quipe seront pr�sents � plusieurs concours chasseur-sauteur de la r�gion d'Ottawa dans le cadre de notre campagne de lev�e de fonds - venez nous dire bonjour! Et attendez-vous � voir nos pamphlets et affiches sur le campus de l'Universit�. La r�union d'informations pour tous �tudiants int�ress�s aura lieu au d�but de la session d'automne (d'autres renseignements � suivre.) Au plaisir de vous voir!
02/20/2010: The team is participating in their first OUEA show in two weeks, right after the last IHSA show of the season! The IHSA show will be hosted at Cazenovia College and St. Lawrence University the second day. This is the last chance for our girls to make regionals, so good luck girls! The OUEA show will be hosted by York University of Toronto, Ontario. We hope that this is the first of many Ontario circuit shows we will participate in.
The executive committee, along with Lauren and Mark who will continue to coach, has also begun preparations for the 2010-2011 season. Updates will be posted shortly! It looks like it will be a great season!
